I decided to learn about puffer fish for my post. The scientific name for them are Tetraodontidae. The scientific name, Tetraodontidae, refers to the four large teeth, fused into an upper and lower plate, which are used for crushing the shells of crustaceans and mollusks, their natural prey. It’s family of fish include puffers, balloonfish, blowfish, bubblefish, globefish, swellfish, toadfish, and toadies. The skin and internal organs of the fish are very toxic to humans. The chemical is called Tetraodetoxin and can kill 60% of humans. Did you know that there are 121 species of puffer fish? There are almost no puffer fish in cold water. I got this information from Wikipedia.com.
